What is the LCB?
The National Congress of Public Administration (LCB) is the largest public administration event in the Netherlands. This congress attracts approximately two hundred visitors each year, consisting of students and (young) professionals, with a (current) public administration issue as the central theme. During the congress, an attempt is made to link theory and practice. This is done through lectures by renowned speakers, but also through workshops and master classes. In addition, students are given the opportunity to orient themselves for a possible work or internship position with one of our many partners.
The predecessor of the LCB was the National Public Administration Day (LBD). Since 1988, a National Research Day has been organised alongside this day. The decision was made to merge both events into a two-day ‘National Congress of Public Administration’ and in 2001 the first LCB took place. The LCB is still organised by the National Congress of Public Administration foundation. This year, the board members of this foundation are seven Political Science students at the University of Amsterdam.
